scott pilgrim anime also makes a strong case for why a voice director is one of the most vital and important jobs an animated product has because. how many animated movies with celebrity voice casts recently have been brought down by shit voice direction. and yet here’s scott pilgrim takes off, with a gigantic cast of celebrities, many of which have never done something like this before, being guided by a voice director that’s been in the business for a really long time, giving some of the best performances of their careers. celebrity voice casts aren’t inherently the problem sometimes it’s just most of those times they don’t bother getting a director who gives a shit about good performances
